City overview
West Palm Beach and the island of Palm Beach sit side by side across the Lake Worth Lagoon, pairing downtown West Palm's museums, waterfront and performing-arts venues with Palm Beach's Worth Avenue, Flagler Museum and wide Atlantic beaches. Jewish life is spread across both: two Chabad houses, the Modern Orthodox Palm Beach Synagogue and New Synagogue on the island, and the long-established Aitz Chaim opposite Century Village. Kosher dining is limited but growing, anchored by two ORB-certified glatt meat restaurants, so plan Shabbos meals ahead.

Getting Around
Public transit
Palm Tran runs the county bus network ($2 a ride, $5 unlimited day pass; pay with the Paradise Pass app, tap-to-pay card or phone, or exact cash).
Within West Palm Beach, the city's West Palm Move network launched in September 2026: a $1 fixed route running north–south from the Norton Museum of Art through downtown, Clematis Street and CityPlace to Northwood Village, plus $2 on-demand rides booked in the West Palm Move app or on 561-264-0458. The Circuit on-demand shuttle covers downtown West Palm Beach and parts of Palm Beach, including Worth Avenue, daily 7:00 AM–9:00 PM through the Ride Circuit app, with the fare shown before you confirm. Brightline trains run from West Palm Beach station (260 Quadrille Plaza Drive) to Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura, Miami and Orlando, and Tri-Rail commuter trains run south to Miami from 203 South Tamarind Avenue.
Rideshare
Uber and Lyft both operate throughout West Palm Beach and Palm Beach and are the authorised rideshare services at the airport, where pickup is on the outer curb of Level 3.
Car rental
Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and other companies have counters in the Level 1 baggage claim area at the airport.
A car is the easiest way to link the island, downtown, Century Village and the Jog Road area; I-95 and Okeechobee Boulevard are the main east–west and north–south routes, and street parking on Palm Beach is metered or time-limited.
Airport
President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT) — renamed from Palm Beach International Airport on 9 July 2026, with its code changing from PBI to DJT on 18 August 2026 — sits just west of downtown West Palm Beach, a short drive via Southern Boulevard or I-95. Palm Tran routes 2 and 44 serve the terminal, and route 2 links free with a valid Tri-Rail fare to the West Palm Beach Tri-Rail/Amtrak station. Taxis wait at the Ground Transportation desk at the west end of Level 1 (Metro Taxi 561-444-9999), and Uber and Lyft pick up on Level 3. Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood and Miami International airports are larger alternatives to the south.
