City overview
Barbados is the easternmost island in the Caribbean, best known for its calm west-coast beaches, British-inflected culture and rum heritage. Jewish life on the island runs entirely through Chabad of Barbados, led by Rabbi Eli and Sterna Chaikin since 2018 from Porters, St. James, just north of Holetown on the west coast. There are no kosher restaurants anywhere on the island — kosher food comes through Chabad's takeout and catering service, which delivers island-wide, and through packaged kosher-certified goods in the larger supermarkets. Chabad holds a minyan on Shabbat during the winter high season and hosts sit-down Shabbat meals open to visitors by reservation. There is no eruv anywhere in Barbados, and no mikvah currently in operation, though one is being built.

Good to know
Chabad of Barbados singles this store out as carrying a wonderful selection of kosher products. Expect packaged and dry goods rather than fresh kosher meat or dairy, which are not sold anywhere in local stores.
