Website
https://chabadnorthcoast.comA separate Chabad centre from the one in Santo Domingo, opened in 2025 by Rabbi Daniel and Esti Silco as the first resident rabbinic presence on the Dominican north coast, serving Puerto Plata, Sosúa and Cabarete. Shabbos dinners draw anywhere from thirty to eighty people, locals, expatriates and tourists together. It runs its own kosher restaurant and grocery on the premises — Glatt kosher, Pas Yisroel and Bishul Yisroel, with imported premium meat and fresh local fish — plus weekly classes, a children's club and holiday programming, and delivers catering to villas across the north coast. A permanent synagogue and community centre building is planned. Visits should be scheduled in advance.
Walking
At the Playa Dorada Mall, walkable from the Playa Dorada resort complex and its hotels. Sosúa is about fifteen minutes away by road and Cabarete about twenty-five — neither is walkable on Shabbos. There is no eruv anywhere in the Dominican Republic.
