Coit Tower is a white concrete tower on Telegraph Hill, completed in 1933. An elevator, with tickets sold in the gift shop, goes up to an observation deck with 360-degree views of the city and bay. Murals painted in 1934 line the base of the tower, and docent-led tours cover them.
Hours

Tips
Observation deck tickets are sold at the tower, up to one hour before closing. Mural tours are for groups of 4 to 6, last about 30-40 minutes and are bought at the tower. If the elevator is out of service, reaching the viewing level means walking up 13 flights of stairs. Parking at the top is very limited, with long car lines at peak times; Muni's 39 Coit bus travels between the tower and Fisherman's Wharf. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
